A terrorist
The No Kings protest is coming up this Saturday. I will be there, even though 47 calls me part of the “terrorist arm” of the Democratic party. I must say it makes me proud that the president of the “Untied” States of America recognizes my power. I was at the protest in June, lining up with hundreds of people on South Lindbergh Blvd. I had a really cool sign that I ended up giving away to a fellow terrorist. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent there among people who, like myself, are outraged by what is taking place in this country.
Things have only gotten worse since June. The actual terrorists, 47’s minions, have become even more emboldened and violent. There is a war being waged by MAGA against those of us who disagree with their tactics. ICE agents cover their faces, probably because they are loath to be identified doing something that is in direct contrast to our Constitution.
Every day I read Heather Cox Richardson’s “Letters from an American”. Her work is meticulously researched. She has a lot to say about 47’s abuse of power, and she doesn’t stop with him. Members of the cabinet, RFK, Pete Hegseth, Kristi Noem, seem to spend a lot of time in the limelight, spewing lies and distortions of the facts. Then there’s Stephen Miller, perhaps the most despicable of the whole lot. I believe he is the driving force behind the heinous policies coming in the form of the 209 Executive Orders that 47 has flamboyantly signed.
I believe this because I don’t think 47 is smart enough to come up with the harebrained ideas reflected in the orders. Last night in a webinar I was reminded that executive orders iare not laws, no matter how much 47 believes they are.
A graphologist in England has this to say about 47’s signature: “…trademark signature screams narcissism , omniscience and omnipotence…it transmits wild ambition and fearlessness”. His spiky signature looks to me like a very serious cardiac arrhythmia that requires CPR and lots of epinephrine. Apparently the large “T” signifies pride in his family name. This reminds me that he allegedly created his coat of arms by purloining one that was left behind at Mar-A-Lago and putting his name on someone else’s crest. I don’t know if that’s true. I like the story, though.
Back to No Kings. It was designed to provide a peaceful, lawful venue for people to express concern and make a powerful show of numbers of protesters. It is a burr under 47’s saddle. Recently speaker Mike Johnson tried to blame the upcoming event as the cause for the ongoing government shutdown. The No Kings organizers had this to say, “Speaker Johnson is running out of excuses for keeping the government shut down instead of reopening the government, preserving affordable health care, or lowering costs fo working families, he’s attacking millions of Americans who are peacefully coming together to say that America belongs to its people, not to kings.”
On June 14, 2025 I stood among a crowd lining Lindbergh for a long distance. There was every kind of shape, size, and look among the participants. I noticed, though, that there was not one African American person among us. A Black friend of mine told me that on the whole, Black Americans are sitting this one out. They have done their share of protesting over the years and have paid a steep price for doing it. That’s OK with me – it is on us this time around.
It’s supposed to rain on Saturday – my weather app gives rain an 80% chance of occurring. I have protested in the rain before. Rain or shine, this terrorist is showing up.
